PHASE 3: Release Site 1

Potential Release Site 1

The proposed area consists of 13 000+ ha of woodland and open bushveld in a remote and peaceful area of unusual beauty and diversity set in Kalahari veld and woodland country, along the banks of a beautiful river and an 800 ha dam.

It is one of the most diverse conservation areas in the province with an exceptional bio- and eco-diversity with an abundance of wildlife and more than 350 bird species can be viewed. The large size of the area already  conserves a wide variety of antelope, giraffe, white rhino, leopard and the bird species that can be spotted include 11 eagle's and 18 smaller raptors.
Presently no lions are present within the reserve and as such an ideal habitat to re-introduce lions.

PHASE 3: Release Site 2

Potential Release Site 2

This collaborative area is a 23 500 hectare reserve situated in Limpopo province, a province of South Africa.

The area consists mainly of vast savannah plains with bushveld and Kalahari grasslands ecosystems. Besides antelope, zebra and giraffes, the south-central black rhinoceros and African bush elephants are some of the highlights of the area. The area supports a great diversity of wildlife and birds. Besides antelope, zebra and giraffe, buffalo and rare sable can also be seen.
Presently no lions occur within this vast African habitat.

PROVIDING HABITAT TO HELP SAVE SA's 8,500+ CAPTIVE BRED LIONS DOOMED FOR "TERMINATION " DUE TO . . . SA GOVERNMENT 's NEW 2024 LAW
(1 to 3 = their 'plan')
(4 = our 'solution')

Terminate

All captive bred lion breeding and tourism

"Voluntary Exit"

So-called voluntary exit option presented to owners of captive bred lions (NB: NO financial assistance nor compensation offered by SA government)

Doomed

Better Options

With the Land4Lions Project we believe that humanity CAN DO BETTER FOR LIONS - we CAN change the fate of SA's Captive Bred Lions by purchasing & developing secure habitat for these lions to survive & thrive on . . . ONE SQUARE METER AT A TIME !

DON'T WAIT . . . SPACE AND TIME ARE RUNNING OUT FOR AFRICA'S LIONS

We CAN do BETTER- Africa's LION KING can survive and THRIVE
